An outstanding build of this kit. I think your uncle would have been truly proud, and honored...

Why would you post a video like this when you do not know what you are talking about! First, that, mostly all dark blue PHASER, with the dark blue rear heat dissipation fins, was a gold colored handle PHASER and NOT one with a bronze colored handle. Art Asylum/Diamond Select did the ST-TOS PHASER plastic handle colors in gloss black, matte/flat black, matte/flat white, gloss white, matte/flat medium gray, bronze and gold! The actual bronze handle PHASER prop from the show had a patina to the bronze metal that gave it a “sort of” brown-ish/green-ish hue. The plastic bronze colored handle PHASER you have, is more brown colored, but still has a feel of the color of bronze to my aging eyes. Second, the PHASERS are NOT 3/4 scale! If you want to see a 3/4 model, look at the AMT/MPC/Round 2 Star Trek landing party exploration set model kit! That plastic model kit is 3/4 of the original sized TV show producction props! All the Art Asylum/Diamind Select Star Trek toy props ARE ALL approximately between 90%-95% of the full scale prop and NOT 3/4 or 75% scale. You were way off on that. Also, if you ever think of purchasing any of the Playmates Star Trek toy props, these are all, with some exceptions, approximately, 90% scale, from the original TV show production props, as well, with one major exception of the Playmates toys Star Trek The Original Series Tricorder. That ST-TOS Tricorder toy, while fairly accurate, I believe that version of the Tricorder was reduced down to,,again, approximately, anywhere from between 80%-85% scale. Playmates chose to do this drastic scaling down of the St-TOS Tricorder so that both adults and younger children, who are fans of ST, could all easily hold the ST-TOS Tricorder in their hands with no issue. It, also, explains why the carry strap was made so short and non-adjustable. They scaled down the ST-TOS Tricorder so young kids could easily carry the Tricorder with the appropriately sized carry strap for younger children and very young adults. All of the ST-TOS Art Asylum/Diamond Select toy props are 5%-10% smallee scale than the actual Star Trek TV show production props!

My Uncle John Burnham flew as a trainee in one. He pranged his kite in training and washed out of pilot training due to the resulting head injury but later served as a bomb aimer and instructor with the CATP.

All this time later, since you made this video, I actually picked this kit over the Airfix one. Yes, the Airfix one has the edge on the details, but this Revellgawa kit is good enough for me as a returning modeller after a gap of half a century. Plus, it's cheaper it get too! Your build here was superb too. I doubt very much I'll do as good a job as you though but, for me at least, its all about the fun of it. 😸

Amazing build!!!! It was a joy to watch your video. I was thinking, most of the pictures I have seen of Corsairs parked have their flaps up, not down. I have seen a video of Pappy Boyington climbing up onto his plane, with the flaps up! Actually, with the flaps up, it is easier to climb abord than with the flaps down. With the pilot installed, I can see where he might have lowered the flaps for take off. Most of the earlier Corsairs up to the D model, didn't have the cut out in the flaps, for the pilot to step onto . With the flaps up, it makes the trailing edge closer to the ground, about knee high, than with the flaps lowered, about waist high. And much more difficult to board the plane, especially with a parachute. Again, great build. I look forward to the next one!!!
